Sardine salting competition and gastronomic offer of salted sardines, olive oil and Istrian wines, lecture on traditional methods of preserving, processing and preparing sardines.
Fažana Small Sardine Fishing Academy opens its doors to the land and the sea! In its work, the Sardine Salting School is particularly interesting, and above all useful. It is worth trying your hand at this ancient art of the sea, cellars and kitchen, standing alongside the competitors who will arrange salted sardines in marked cans, applying knowledge that has been passed down from generation to generation… Children, locals, guests, beginners and experts: everyone will learn or say something about the amount of fish needed, about salt, oil, spices… In three months, the cans will be opened and the best salted sardines will be declared. An exceptional opportunity for tasting and discussion about choosing the right wine for such celebrations. In any case, it needs to be salted properly! And that is why a school is needed.
